Goo Goo Dolls have recorded a brand new single 'Real' which will be available on iTunes in the UK and Europe only on 22nd September 2008. 'Real' was recorded with producer Greg Wattenberg in the band's studio in Buffalo and is their first new song since the album "Let Love In" in 2006. On working with Greg, John Rzeznik says, "Greg is really great, he knows how to engineer, he's a songwriter and he's written some really big hits and he's very hands-on. We had a great time collaborating together."
The band premiered "Real" on their main stage appearance at the O2 Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park. This show proved to be the populist choice as this day sold out in record time ahead of the remaining Wireless dates. They have also completed another sold out tour of the UK.
The band's vocalist John Rzeznik was the recipient of the Hal David Starlight Awards at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards in June this year. Hal David said, "John Rzeznik is well-deserving of the Starlight Award, not only shining as an outstanding, talented songwriter, but one with a unique vision. We are pleased to honour him with this prestigious award."
The Goo Goo Dolls have sold 10 million records worldwide and have been nominated for four Grammys and an MTV Video Award.
