Green Day are to record 35 songs for their new album due in September.
The band have been in the studio working on the follow-up to 2000's 'Warning' this year.
Singer Billy Joe Armstrong told Rolling Stone: "We've got about 35 songs we're going to record. It's a lot of material. We're trying to get one theme throughout the album, because we're in the album business, not in the business of making singles."
