Green Day played the biggest show of their lives on UK soil last night (June 18).
The punk champions played the first of two sell-out nights at Milton Keynes Bowl as their 'American Idiot' tour hit its climax.
After last year's shows at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals and in the run up to next month's headline appearances at T in the Park and Oxegen, the band proved they could easily hold their own at their own massive outdoor shows.
Green Day kept the set to the familiar selection of songs they have been playing this past year; during Operation Ivy's 'Knowledge', they brought three punters up onstage to play their instruments and sent the surrogate bass player crowdsurfing back into the crowd.
As usual, they also played Queen's 'We Are The Champions'.
