A remarkable nine-minute, five-part song that is not only the most exhilarating part of the Green Day live show but that also defines the concept of ‘American Idiot', ‘Jesus Of Suburbia' is the band's most ambitious offering to date and looks set to be one of the boldest hit singles of the year.
‘Jesus Of Suburbia' follows Green Day's other ‘American Idiot' hits in the form of ‘American Idiot' (#3), ‘Boulevard Of Broken Dreams' (#5), ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends' (#7) and ‘Holiday' (#11).
The single is released ahead of the November 14th DVD release that documents Green Day's momentous two-night stand earlier this year at the Milton Keynes National Bowl. The two mammoth shows were attended by a total of 250,000 fans.
‘American Idiot' has sold 1.4-million copies in the UK alone, debuting at #1 and remaining in the Top 30 a year later. The album also earned Green Day a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
