Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has revealed that he and the rest of the pop-punk group are hard at work on new music through a series of Twitter posts.
"Ok here's the scoop. GD has been jamming new songs everyday," Armstrong posted on Twitter early Tuesday morning (May 31). "There's a ton of new songs. The direction is fresh and hi energy. Feels great."

The 39-year-old singer added that he, bassist Mike Dirnt, drummer Tre Cool and touring guitarist Jason White "are collaborating and having the best time playing music... And that's not bullshit!"
Since releasing their last full-length, 2009's "21st Century Breakdown," Green Day issued the live CD/DVD, "Awesome as F**k," last March, and will watch their hit musical "American Idiot" hit the road this fall after its yearlong stint on Broadway ended on Apr. 24. Earlier this year, Armstrong played the role of St. Jimmy in the Broadway production of "Idiot," which is being mulled as the basis for a possible feature film.
