Internet sensation and pop/rock prodigy Greyson Chance announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that his debut album, Hold On 'Til the Night, will be released on August 2nd (eleveneleven/Maverick/Geffen).
Chance also performed his second single, "Unfriend You," an up-tempo ballad about heartbreak in modern times which is currently available wherever music is sold digitally. I absolutely love it since it's so current and modern and addresses relationships that exist via and because of social networking! The majority of Hold On 'Til the Night was written by Chance, who we might add is a barely a teen at 13! Kid has talent and I him!
The album was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by The Matrix (Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, Jason Mraz, Britney Spears), Billy Steinberg (Enrique Iglesias, Katherine McPhee, Miranda Cosgrove) and Ron Fair (Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, The Black Eyed Peas).
"Recording this album has been such a fun and exciting journey!" said Chance. "I've put so much hard work into it and I can't wait for the world to hear it. It's about overcoming fears but always powering through, and I think it's a message my fans will really relate to," he added.
Greyson recently wrapped a 28-city North American tour with fellow teen pop star Cody Simpson, earning rave reviews. This is Chance's second major tour, having completed a run with iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove in the winter. Chance's debut single "Waiting Outside the Lines" was recently the #1 physical single in the country for four straight weeks. Chance's debut EP is currently available wherever music is sold digitally.
