Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 has officially become Amazon's all-time record holder for pre-orders, beating the long-time record of Mama Mia!.
Amazon announced that pre-order sales for the final Potter movie are more than twice that of previous film, Deathly Hallows - Part 1.
John Boumphrey, director of music, film & TV at Amazon.co.uk, said in a statement: "The final instalment of the Harry Potter film series was always going to be a top seller and pre-orders for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 are now more than double those achieved by Part 1.
"When pre-orders for the final instalment began in September it quickly became the fastest-selling film & TV product of all-time with first day pre-orders overtaking those achieved by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 in just five hours."
The online store also revealed that the Potter films, based on JK Rowling's books, have also become the biggest-selling series on Amazon, with 79% more total sales than second-place The Lord of the Rings.
