In this hilarious spoof video, the American magician makes a convincing point that the multi-billion-dollar Potter brand is just one big rip-off of his life.
'Everything in that Potter series was stolen from my life and I can prove it,' says the 54-year-old as he looks menacingly into the camera with spooky music tinkling in the background.
“Harry’s invisibility cloak - I invented it in ‘83,” says the veteran illusionist.
“Potter had a magic, disappearing train… mmm, how original,” he adds sarcastically as footage flashes up of his famous 80s trick ‘Vanishing the Orient Express’.
'I was rocking the round glasses back when I was nine,” he says as a geeky childhood snap picture appears.
“I too have a scar shaped like a lightning bolt. I just can't show you - it's in a personal area,' continues the magic-man, who was once engaged to Claudia Schiffer.
“The similarities don’t end there - my best friend is a dude named Ron,” rants Copperfield who appears to be on a roll.
“And, one time, I met Alan Rickman and he was a total d**k to me,” he adds, referring to Harry Potter’s evil teacher Severus Snape, who is played by Rickman in the films.
The video was aired on the US comedy site, Funny or Die.
