Overview
Helena Bonham Carter will star as a brothel owner as the Lone Ranger ramps up its casting.
Dwight Yoakam, James Dale Badge and Barry Pepper have also been hired, although the Harry Potter star is the most high profile addition.
Armie Hammer will play the Lone Ranger, with Johnny Depp lining up as his sidekick Tonto.
Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski has been charged by Disney to adapt the classic television series.
Depp has been quoted by Digital Spy as saying: "I remember watching [the TV series] as a kid, with Jay Silverheels and Clayton Moore, and going, 'Why is the f**king Lone Ranger telling Tonto what to do?'"
Lone Ranger is released on December 21, 2012.
