Hulk revealed that the duo had just recently repaired their differences after not talking for more than a decade as tributes flooded in from all of wrestling following the WWF legend’s death yesterday when the 58-year-old experienced a heart attack while driving in Tampa, Florida.
Hulk – who met Randy, known as ‘Macho Man, many times in the ring during their wrestling careers – tweeted that they had “finally started to talk and communicate” following “over 10 years of not talking with Randy”.
The 57-year-old was obviously in a state of shock as he wrote that Randy’s death “was a tough one” to accept, while stating that his fellow wrestler “had so much life is his eyes” and a “spirit” to match.
Hulk, who continued by stating that “we miss him a lot” and is praying “that he’s happy and in a better place”, also feels “horrible about the 10 years of having no communication” with Randy.
Meanwhile, another star of WWF, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, also took to Twitter to say that Randy was among his “childhood inspirations and heroes”.
The actor tweeted: “RIP Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage”, before adding that he was sending his “strength, love and prayers to the Savage/Poffo family”.
Lynn Payne – Randy’s second wife – survived the accident, which came soon after their first wedding anniversary, with “minor injuries”.
