Ian Brown has written his own political song in the run up to tomorrow's General Election (May 5).
The singer has published a set of lyrics to 'Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea' which casts a cynical eye over this year's race for Downing Street.
As reported by The Guardian, the lyrics are:
â€Vote for me, vote for me / I'm the politician with the policies to set you free / Time for an election / So what's your selection? / Caught between the devil and the deep blue seaâ€
Chorus:
â€Soapbox speakin', power speakin' / Gonna light the nation in its darkest hour / Craving the keys to the rein of powerâ€
â€Love me, trust me, cast me your vote / X marks the spot / Let me be the first past the postâ€
â€Don't vote for me and ya can't complain / Let me be a law-maker / In the game where a dreamer can become a shakerâ€
Chorus:
â€Soapbox speakin', power speakin' / Gonna light the nation in its darkest hour / Craving the keys to the rein of powerâ€
â€Lookin' for a vision? / Can't make a decision? / Caught between the devil and the deep blue seaâ€
â€Filled with derision? / Can't make a decision? / Stuck between the devil and the deep blue seaâ€
â€Re-count! Re-count! / Who spoilt the papers? / Say nobody vote for no one / No others, no Tory or Labour / Just got left with 30m spoilt ballot papersâ€
Chorus:
â€Soapbox speakin', power speakin' / Gonna light the nation in its darkest hour / Craving the keys to the rein of powerâ€
