Rapper Iggy Azalea has denied allegations she owes American authorities $391,000 (£275,000) in unpaid taxes.
The Fancy star made fresh headlines on Monday (04Apr16) when it was reported that she owes officials at America's Internal Revenue Service (IRS) $391,000 in income tax from 2014, and she has been sent a lien ordering her to pay up.
Iggy has responded to TMZ.com's claims, insisting the IRS issue her a tax bill every month, and she doesn't even owe that much.
"They exaggerate everything. the IRS gave the option to pay them monthly or lump sum. i picked monthly, who wouldnt?," Iggy wrote to a fan on Twitter. "dude, its SO lame. its basically pulling up someones credit card bill that they pay in full every month on time (sic)...
"Plus its not even accurate information... yes, i pay my taxes monthly. no, im not in any dispute with the government and dont owe that amount (sic)."
She then accused reporters of creating more bad news about her following the leak of a video in which her basketball player fiance Nick Young appears to confess cheating on her.
"Peep (People) the way when one thing happens media scrambles to keep adding on to the storyline, like a soap opera. #IggyNovela," she writes to other users. "its super corny, but i know the way it works this time around and its expected. im ready for another season of the iggy novela (sic)."
In the wake of the scandal, Nick was removed from the Los Angeles Lakers active roster ahead of a game on Sunday (03Apr16) and will likely be benched for the team's final six games. Head coach Bryon Scott told ESPN Nick is "not here with us mentally".
The couple, who got engaged in 2015, appear to still be together as Iggy was sporting her engagement ring at the iHeartRadio Awards on Sunday.
