Imagine Dragons, Rita Ora Want To Help You Get A Fulbright!

Imagine Dragons, Rita Ora and Steve Aoki are lending their talents to a very scholastic cause: helping you get a Fulbright Fellowship.

Yes, the trio of artists are teaming with mtvU and the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to help nominate candidates for the 2013-14 Fulbright-mtvU Fellowships, which were established to help promote the power of music as a global force for mutual understanding. Since its inception in 1946, the Fulbright Program has awarded more than 300,000 grants to students, teachers and professionals, allowing them to study in more than 155 countries worldwide.

"It's an honor to be a small part of a program that does so much good. Music is such a universal means of communication — it seems fitting that the Fulbright Fellowship uses it as a tool to make a positive cross-culture impact," Imagine Dragons told. "We're excited to see the applicants' proposals."

Applications for the 2013-14 Fulbright-mtvU Fellowships are being accepted now until March 1 through Fulbright.mtvU.com. The Dragons, Ora and Aoki will each review potential proposals, and the final selection of Fulbright Fellowships will be made by the presidentially appointed J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Winners of the 2012-13 Fulbright-mtvU Fellowships are currently conducting research in Kosovo, India, Barbados and Botswana for one academic year, working on projects of their own design that focus on an aspect of international musical culture.
