Jamie Foxx can't wait to re-launch Showtime at the Apollo.
Over the weekend the star discussed his plans to bring back the variety TV show, after it ended its 21-year run in 2008.
Showtime at the Apollo features live performances from big music stars as well as up-and-coming artists.
"The Apollo did it long before American Idol, except the audience were the judges," Jamie explained.
The actor-and-singer once performed at the famous Apollo in New York City as a young comedian, so knows exactly how the wannabe stars will be feeling.
Jamie will act as executive producer on the show for BET.
He made the announcement at the Apollo in the Hamptons benefit at Ronald Perelman's East Hampton estate. Jamie entertained the crowd by performing as both himself and Ray Charles.
The event on Saturday night raised more than $1 million for Harlem education programmes. Other stars taking to the stage included Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi and Ben E. King.
A host of famous faces turned out to support the evening, with L.A. Reid, Richard Gere, Matt Lauer, Ron Meyer and Pharrell Williams all in attendance.
