Jamie xx has revealed that not only is a new album from The xx coming along nicely, but he's also working on a solo record.
When quizzed by Fader on new material from the Mercury-winning 'Angels' stars, Jamie said a new record was 'coming'.
"We've got quite a lot of songs that are not finished, but I'm excited about it," he said, "It feels a lot more free than when we were making the last record."
Speaking of the impact of recording in Iceland and Texas, he added: "I think the most inspiring thing, really, is just not being anywhere crazy and just being at home."
He also added that he's been working on a solo album, which consists of 'three years worth of music.
"There's one track where I need to get the vocal on, but I don't know who the vocalist is going to be yet," he said. "I never really listen to lyrics, but I can understand [them] a little bit more when it's spoken word rather than singing. It gets to my head a bit quicker."
Meanwhile, Jamie xx is due to play Manchester's Warehouse Project alongside Jon Hopkins and Modeselektor on Friday 12 December. For tickets and more information, visit here.
