The 50-year-old Glee actress won her own Emmy last year for her portrayal of sports teacher Sue Sylvester in the musical series. She will now front the awards show at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on September 18.
'I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on Fox,' she said in a statement. 'I'm looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit.'
Meanwhile, Mark Burnett, the show's executive producer, said that he was 'thrilled' to have Lynch on board.
'Jane was my first - and only - choice as the host for this year's Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said yes,' he said. 'She has incredible comedic timing, and is a charismatic, talented actress whose energy leaps off the screen and stage. I am thrilled and excited to have her as our host.'
