Three of the four members of Jane's Addiction, who announced they had split up last week, have formed a new group.
Only singer Perry Farrell is missing from the line-up of the unnamed new group, which includes guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Chris Chaney.
They have enlisted musical actor Steve Isaacs as a singer, says Launch.
They have already written three new songs and are currently in the recording studio, working with Black Grape producer Danny Saber.
However Isaacs insists on his weblog that he is not replacing Perry Farrell.
"Even writing that like it were possible is crazy to me," he said.
"Dave, Stephen, and Chris and I are just taking some time to do what is the most fun thing in the world to do - make music and write songs."
