Janet Jackson has dismissed rumours she is battling throat cancer.
The Nasty singer concerned fans when she broke the news of a mystery health emergency on Twitter.com on Christmas Eve (24Dec15), telling them she needed "surgery soon".
While the 49 year old did not reveal why she needed medical attention, she was forced to axe six U.S. concerts in October (15) after doctors told her to rest her voice.
On Tuesday (05Jan16), reports surfaced a tumour was discovered on Jackson's vocal cords, and she had secretly been battling cancer.
However, the R&B icon took to Twitter on Wednesday (06Jan16) to set the record straight, posting a video of a song from her latest album, Unbreakable, titled The Great Forever.
The lyrics scrolled across the screen as her track played in the background, and it included the lines, "Not too pleased with what you're diggin'/I'm just busy livin' my life/Sources say but where ya gettin' it/Don't create the truth you like."
At the end of the video, a message from Janet read: "Remember... believe it when you hear it from my lips. The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering. My doctors have approved my concerts as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love."
Janet is slated to resume her Unbreakable world tour in Europe in March (16).
