Janet Jackson has issued a statement saying that she must post the upcoming Unbreakable World Tour dates while she has surgery.
The singer did not elaborate on what procedure she will undergo or how long her recovery will be; however, she did say that she has to postpone all dates until the spring.
Hey you guys… Happy Holidays to each and every one of you. I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced. Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time. There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon' b alright.
Jackson had previously postponed dates due to vocal strain, so it is possible that she may be having throat surgery, although there is no confirmation from her camp.
The next date on her tour, still listed on her website, is January 9 in Denver. The itinerary is extensive for January through April, with twelve shows set for January, thirteen for Februay, eight for March and sixteen for April which is a lot of dates to try and reschedule.
The tour lasts until the end of June so expect new dates for those postponed to begin at the start of July.
