Jeff Beck was one of the highlights of last year's Grammy Awards when he paid tribute to the late-Les Paul by performing How High the Moon with Imelda May.
Last summer, he played two nights at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York, the home of Paul every Monday night for the last 14 years of his life, in honor of the guitar innovator on what would have been his 95th birthday.
Highlights from those shows will be released on CD and DVD on February 22 with Rock 'n' Roll Party to Honor Les Paul (Eagle Rock Entertainment). The evening included Beck playing both Les Paul standards and a number of rock and rockabilly standards, all backed up by the Imelda May Band. A shortened version of the performance will be shown on many PBS stations during their upcoming pledge drive.
Starting March 24, Beck and the Imelda May Band will be playing a series of shows around the U.S. in support of the CD and DVD.
