Jennifer Hudson and her sister, Julia, are establishing a foundation to help other victims of tragedy.
Hudson's publicist says the sisters have established the Hudson-King Foundation For Families of Slain Victims.
It will care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime, including food, shelter, clothing and grief counseling.
Hudson's mother, brother and nephew were found shot to death in Chicago October 24.
Meanwhile, friends and relatives gathered at Hudson's childhood church yesterday for a memorial service. Hudson did not attend. Funeral services will be held today.
