Jennifer Hudson is guided by her dead mother.
The 'Dreamgirls' star – whose mom Darnell Donnerson was murdered along with her brother and nephew in October 2008 – believes she is protected by her mother's spirit and feels inspired by her when parenting her three-month-old son David.
Asked if she feels her mom is with her all the time, Jennifer said: ""Oh my God, yeah. Definitely. Wherever. Every day I'm like, 'Wow! I didn't realise I was so like my mother until now, you know?
"My mother was the strongest person I've ever seen."
Jennifer said motherhood had completely changed her life and is thankful for fiance David Otunga's support.
She told US TV show 'Access Hollywood': "Being a mom is the most amazing thing ever.
"But it's hard to put into words because it's something you have to experience to understand. I love every minute of it."
When asked if David changes nappies – the Oscar-winning star replied: "He just changed one sitting here a few minutes ago."
