The Dreamgirls star, who has lost at least 80 pounds on the diet plan, opened the Jennifer Hudson Weight Watchers Center in her home town of Chicago.
Weight Watchers says it will donate a portion of the center's profits to a foundation in honour of Hudson's nephew, Julian King, who was murdered along with the star's mother and brother in October 2008.
'I am honored that Weight Watchers has put my name on a center in my hometown of Chicago,' said Hudson.
'Weight Watchers has helped make my new lifestyle a reality by teaching me the tools I needed to be successful.
'I hope this Center and my story continue to serve as an inspiration to others to begin their own journey toward a healthier lifestyle.
'I am also so grateful to Weight Watchers for giving a portion of this center's proceeds to my Foundation.'
