Overview
Darnell Donnerson was murdered in 2008, along with Hudson's brother Jason and nephew Julian.
The 29-year-old actress went on to have son David Jnr with WWE star David Otunga in August 2009, and said that her only wish is that she raises her little boy as well as her mother raised her.
She told Essence magazine, 'My wish is to be at least half as good as my mother was, as patient and as loving as she was, and to just give that to my son.'
Since giving birth, she has dropped more than 80lbs, but admitted that she was surprised by the public reaction.
'I didn't realise that so many people were watching me or that so many people were interested,' she said. 'Now people come up to me saying, 'You've inspired me', and I'm like, 'Wow'.'
