The singer-actress, who shares the secrets of her amazing new figure with Self Magazine, says she started her fitness regime by simply walking 30 minutes each day soon after she gave birth to her baby son David in 2009, because “it was all I could do'.
'I figured me walking was better than me sitting on a couch. Before long, I built up to other things,' she adds.
Now, after shedding a whopping 80lbs, she says: “I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar!”
The Dreamgirls star adds that following a WeightWatchers diet plan helped her break her “diet mentality' and realise that, 'I can eat anything I want, it's about portions and balance'.
And she has a key message for fans who might be worried that her new slimline shape will affect her ability to sing: 'My voice has actually got stronger!'
