Jennifer Lawrence credits her Hunger Games co-star for helping her pursue her career

Josh's story helped persuade Jennifer's parents that getting into Hollywood was a worthy profession.

The Winter's Bone star's folks were reluctant when she spent the summer in New York auditioning for acting jobs when she was 14.

And when she didn't end up landing a role, her parents wanted her focus on another career.

Then Lawrence found an article about Josh which discussed his breakthrough role in Little Manhattan, which she used as an example to her folks.

The 20-year-old told Entertainment Weekly magazine: 'I was like, 'Look, see? He's from Kentucky and he made it. I can do it too.'

'And, weirdly, it helped them accept that this is what I wanted to do.'
