Jennifer Lawrence no-showed at the MTV Movie Awards last night.
The 'Silver Linings Playbook' star and her co-star Bradley Cooper were the biggest winners at the ceremony on Sunday (14.04.13) - collecting Best Actress for her role in the film and Best Kiss along with Bradley - but the show's producers were left with a headache for the live broadcast together when she failed to appear at the ceremony in Culver City, Los Angeles.
Show bosses reportedly planned to showcase the Oscar-winning actress heavily in the broadcast, including expensive promotion for Jennifer's forthcoming movie 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire', but were left embarrassed when she didn't turn up, reports Deadline.
Additionally, the show had to be re-arranged to accommodate the 22-year-old star's absence, with a planned comedy skit featuring her and host Rebel Wilson being scrapped, and several other segments being re-shuffled.
Jennifer's 'Silver Linings Playbook' co-star, Bradley, 38, apologised for the actress' no-show while accepting the Best Kiss award.
He told the audience: 'Thanks so much. Jen's not here. I'm sorry. I know. But, she was great to kiss.'
Despite the apology, however, the crowd was described as 'audibly upset', according to MTV.com.
The reason for Jennifer's absence is said to be a scheduling conflict.
The in-demand screen star is currently shooting a new movie, which reunites her with 'Silver Linings Playbook' director David O'Russell and co-star Bradley, and is expected to jet off to Canada straight after that film to begin work on the hotly anticipated 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.
