On the eve of the 2013 Oscars, where both actress Jennifer Lawrence and director David O. Russell are nominated for awards, the pair isn't waiting for Oscar glory to decide whether or not they want to work together again. They're already all in.
Lawrence and Russell are joining forces once again for the "Silver Linings Playbook" filmmaker's next effort, titled "The Ends of the Earth." The film centers on "a powerful oil tycoon who has everything stripped from him after he is caught in an affair," according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor playing the tycoon is currently unknown, but Russell made it clear why he wants to work with the "Hunger Games" actress again: "Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease."
"She is the most dedicated person I know," Russell continued in his statement to THR. "She is devoted to her family, and they have been the true inspiration for her character and integrity. Her acting is effortless, and she always makes it look easy."
Producers Todd Black and Steve Tisch added, "Her performance in 'Silver Linings' was transcendent and was truly the heart and soul of the film. Jennifer was basically asked to play four personalities -- depressed, sexy, romantic and a wild dancer -- and did them all brilliantly. After seeing that performance, we knew we had our anchor for 'Ends of the Earth.' Her dedication to the craft and all those who work with her is inspiring -- and if she is the future of our business, we are certainly in good hands."
"Ends of the Earth" will be the third collaboration between Lawrence and Russell, as the "Hunger Games" star is slated to have a cameo appearance in the director's next movie, an untitled drama about a 1970s FBI sting operation. The film features a round-up of Russell's other favorite actors, including "The Fighter" award-winner Christian Bale and his co-star Amy Adams, as well as "Silver Linings" leading man Bradley Cooper.
