Jessie J doesn't think being unfollowed is a "battle to fight".
The Domino singer decided to have a Twitter cull on Tuesday, reducing the number of people she follows by half, down to just 400. Her decision was met with uproar by a number of her supporters, but the 27-year-old doesn't understand why they have taken it so personally.
"I find it insane that some people take being unfollowed like a personal attack," she wrote in a now deleted tweet. "If I punched you in the face fair enough. But I didn't... Meh. Pick your battles in life. Being unfollowed by anyone is not a battle to fight. Or feel any way about. It's Twitter (sic)".
But her fans on the receiving end of the cull didn't agree. One called the singer "rude" and "ungrateful", while another said it was a bad thing to do because her fanbase helped her get where she is today. However, never one to be afraid of speaking her mind, Jessie was quick to respond.
"Stop making me out to be something I'm not," she wrote. "My emotions made me the artist I am today. And the artist I am today is emotional.(sic)"
The star then seemed to head off to the gym. And exercise may have helped the Bang Bang singer clear her head, as an hour later, she offered an apology of sorts to her 6.96 million followers.
"I'm sorry if I offended anyone. It's NEVER my intention," she posted, before adding, "When music made us all unite"(sic)".
