Jesus And Mary Chain comeback

The Jesus And Mary Chain, who split acrimoniously in 1998, are to reunite on a new single.

Brothers Jim and William Reid called time on their legendary and hugely influential band after a huge onstage bust-up in LA back in 1998, but now they have both contributed to different sides of a new split single.

Jim Reid's 'Song For A Secret' is backed with Sister Vanilla's 'Can't Stop The Rock', which was written and produced by William Reid and the brothers' younger sibling, Linda . The single is released by Transistor Records on October 17.

Jim Reid is promoting his side of the single with a very rare solo gig at London's Sonic Cathedral club on John Peel Day , Thursday October 13. Also appearing on the night will be hotly-tipped Australian newcomers The Morning After Girls, plus DJ sets from The Telescopes, who have promised some "Peel treats" and some surprise guests.
