The British boyband are in talks with the 'S&M' singer about recording a track together and singer Oritse Williams admitted he was extremely taken by the Bajan beauty when he met her.
He said: "We are in talks to collaborate with Rihanna. Let's see what happens there. We hope so. I tried to chat her up."
However, although Oritse's attempts to woo the pop star seemed to be working, he decided to give up when he realised how many other men were also trying to talk to her.
He explained to BANG showbiz: "It was going well and then there were a few other guys on the prowl and I said, 'You know what, I'll step out because there's others.' I can't say who.
"But she's popular, very popular when she comes to England."
The 'Beat Again' hitmaker is keen for JLS to collaborate with more female artists, such as former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, Adele and Jessie J.
He continued: "We haven't actually collaborated with a solo female artist apart from Kylie Minogue. Nicole Scherzinger would be amazing. We should give it a try.
"I'm a huge fan of Adele, I'd absolutely love to collaborate with Adele. That would be absolutely amazing. Also Jessie J. That would be very, very incredible."
