Don't look for a Runaways reunion.
Joan Jett has told L.A. Weekly that she doesn't see any reason to have one. "I don't really get why we should do it. The down side is bigger than the up side. It would be fun for people to see, but you've got to remember we're not who we were in 1976.
"It's not worth it to me. We had a great band that kicked ass for three and a half years. I'm very protective of it because it was very special to me. To come back and have the press judge us … Plus, you can't gauge the dynamics of the band. I'm just not sure it would be the reunion the fans are looking for."
The rumours of a reunion grew last year when Lita Ford said that she, Jett and Cherie Currie had dinner and all of the bad feelings that had been around for years were settled.
With no reunion in site, Ford and Currie went into the studio and recorded a new Christmas song, Let's Rock This Christmas Down. Ford wrote the song with her drummer and it was during a coincidental phone call that the duet was put together. Ford tells PsychoBabbleTV.com "It just so happened that Cherie was on the phone just after we'd talked about recording this song. I said, 'Why don't you sing it with me?' So she flew in, came straight from the airport to the studio, cut the vocal track – and we have a Christmas single with me and Cherie singing lead vocals."
