Joni Mitchell's conservator Leslie Morris claims the singer is "speaking well".
The 71-year-old legendary folk musician's friend David Crosby revealed last week she suffered an aneurysm a few months ago which left her unable to talk.
But her conservator Leslie has provided a more informed update on the Blue songwriter's current health, sharing a statement on the matter via Joni's official website on Sunday.
"Joni did in fact suffer an aneurysm," the statement reads. "However, details that have emerged in the past few days are mostly speculative. The truth is that Joni is speaking, and she's speaking well. She is not walking yet, but she will be in the near future as she is undergoing daily therapies. She is resting comfortably in her own home and she's getting better each day. A full recovery is expected."
Joni was rushed to hospital in Los Angeles on March 31, after being found unconscious at her home.
While speaking to HuffPost Live last week, Crosby, Stills & Nash star David admitted he hadn't spoken to Joni since she was released from hospital.
But he believes she will definitely get back on her feet, even though it may be a challenge to fully recover from the aneurysm.
"She's going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury," David told the outlet. "She's a tough girl and very smart. So, how much she's going to come back and when, I don't know and I'm not going to guess. I love her. She's probably the best of us – probably the greatest living singer-songwriter."
