In an eyebrow-raising interview with NBC's The Today Show, the controversial hip-hop mogul stressed his hurtful words had come from a 'pure place' and that he wanted to 'man up' to his mistakes.
But although he had wanted to appear on the popular morning TV show to right his wrongs, West again ended up causing a scene, telling crew-members to 'be quiet' while he was talking and objecting to the show's production methods.
He was visibly annoyed when producers ran video footage of Bush becoming emotional about being labelled a racist by the American chart-topper.
West said: 'I would tell George Bush that in my moment of frustration that I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist.'
And when the topic switched to his infamous stage interruption of Taylor Swift at last year's VMA awards, West said he was able to empathise with Bush because he too was called a racist because of his actions.
'It was so funny to me that it could be a race thing,' he said. 'The way I was expressing my frustration from years and years of saying
