Kanye West is currently under fire for some comments he allegedly made at handicapped people during his show in Sydney on Friday.
The Daily Mail reports that he commanded everyone to stand up and dance and said: “I can’t do this show until everybody stand up… Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and shit. Imma see you if you ain’t standing up, believe me, I’m very good at that.”
Eventually, the ‘Black Skinhead’ rapper focused on two seated fans and ordered security to check if the pair were in wheelchairs. After several minutes, during which Kanye complained that this was the longest he has ever had to wait to a do a song, it was confirmed that one of the fans in question was indeed in a wheelchair. Subsequently, Kanye continued with his performance.
One concertgoer defended West to TMZ, saying that Kanye meant nothing by it and revealed: “[the incident] is just being blown out of proportion.” Earlier this year in Austin, Kanye West gifted his microphone to a fan in a wheelchair during a concert.
Fans are currently anticipating the follow-up to the best-selling ‘Yeezus’. Speaking to GQ about the album Kanye revealed: “I hope I can get one of these songs out in the next couple of weeks, just to have something up and running. But I think most likely September. I go back and forth. Like, should it be September or should it be October? Should it be November?”
