Although Kanye West's "Today" show interview wasn't exactly a success by most standards, it has been revealed the rapper/producer actually hired a media coach to train him for it.

According to the New York Times, West hired the public relations firm Rubenstein Communications to coach him on his response to former President George Bush. Apparently, after snippets of the George Bush interview aired, during which Bush says that West saying Bush not liking Black people was "one of the most disgusting moments" of his presidency, the firm decided West didn't need to respond and cancelled the interview.

But without being made aware, Kanye's label rescheduled the interview, prompting his coach at Rubenstein to rush to NBC's studios at 30 Rockerfeller Plaza to meet him there. And, the rest is history.

Kanye has since cancelled his "Today" show performance, which was scheduled for Nov. 26. It is apparently still unclear if he will participate in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is broadcast on NBC and hosted by "Today" show's Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira.
