The fact that Kanye West and Justin Bieber were in the studio together isn't necessarily breaking new these days: After all, they first joined forces last year when 'Ye remixed JB's "Runaway Love" (somehow, Raekwon was also involved), a version of which shows up on Bieber's new Never Say Never - The Remixes album.
But Kanye West and Justin Bieber and his new haircut getting together? Definitely noteworthy.
Late Tuesday night, West took to his Twitter account to post a photo of him and the Beebs — whom he called "my new beat protégé" — working together on a track. Bieber, new hair and all, is wearing sunglasses and a white denim jacket, and can be seen working on a MacBook, while West (also in sunglasses) is tapping away on a keyboard.
There's no word on just what the dynamic duo were actually working on. Recently, Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, told fans that JB was working on new music, and that "He's been talking to Drake ... [he] and Kanye had a call today about a song they're trying to work on together; Kanye wants to produce a bunch of new songs for the album."
In an interview with MTV News earlier this month, Bieber said that working with West "was amazing," and added that ever-mercurial rapper/producer is "such a cool guy ... just really laid back and ... at the end of the day, he's just a nice person."
Of course, he added that West certainly has his quirks.
"It's funny, because he doesn't even use a phone; he just sends e-mail," Bieber laughed. "It's so crazy. I'm like, 'How can you not use a phone?' "
