He is already, in the words of the immortal Ray Davies, a "dedicated follower of fashion," but is Kanye West planning to take his love of all things haute couture to the next level by enrolling in a noted school of design?
According to U.K. tabloid The Sun, the answer is yes. In an article published Saturday, the newspaper reported that West has applied to London's prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design — whose alumni include Stella McCartney and the late Alexander McQueen — to study for a Master's degree in fashion.
The paper also reported that West flew to London last week to meet with the head of the College's fashion program, professor Louise Wilson, "a style dictator" with a feared reputation within the industry.
The Sun added that West had yet to be accepted into CSM's program, which was "no surprise, given his love of appalling outfits."
Of course, there could also be another reason West hasn't been accepted to the College: He never actually applied there. In a statement to MTV News, a spokesperson for Central Saint Martins said that West had no plans to study fashion at the school, adding that while he did visit last week, it wasn't to check up on his application for admission.
"Kanye West is not enrolling in [the] MA Fashion [program] at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design," Jo Ortmans, press officer for Central Saint Martins, wrote in an e-mail. "He visited the college last week on unrelated matters."
Regardless of whether he actually studies it or not, West has continued his fashion obsession in recent weeks, tweeting his admiration for Italian designer Valentino and bestowing "fresh" status on a kid in a junior-sized fur coat.
