Kanye West remains under investigation for assaulting a paparazzo, it has been confirmed.
The I Am a God rapper allegedly attacked a paparazzo at Los Angeles International Airport last Friday.
It is claimed that Kanye punched and wrestled the photographer to the ground after the man bombarded the star with questions.
TMZ initially reported that the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) were considering charging Kanye with felony attempted robbery for trying to take the man's camera. But it was later claimed that prosecution for this charge is highly unlikely due to the lack of evidence.
Authorities verify that Kanye is not completely off the hook for the incident just yet.
"The investigation is still ongoing and no determination has been made as to whether charges will be filed or not," the LAPD Robbery and Homicide division told Us Weekly in a statement.
While the rapper could technically still face misdemeanour criminal battery charges, it's not thought that will happen either.
"We're told Kanye is willing to ante up some cash to make the case go away, and it's perfectly legal. It's called a civil compromise and it's done every day," TMZ previously detailed.
Kanye became a father for the first time last month when his girlfriend Kim Kardashian gave birth to their daughter North West.
He is currently promoting his sixth studio album Yeezus, which has garnered numerous headlines for controversial singles such as Black Skinhead.
