Kanye West performed his first official The Life of Pablo show in the Philippines on Saturday (09Apr16).
The rapper took the stage at the Paradise International Music Festival in Manila and played several songs from his acclaimed new album live for the first time.
His first official gig of 2016 included his controversial Taylor Swift diss track Famous and Waves, as well as older hits including All Of The Lights and Stronger.
Kanye's new album is on course to make U.S. chart history by becoming the first album to top the Billboard 200 on streaming hits alone after it was added to Apple Music and Spotify on 1 April (16).
The Life of Pablo was released exclusively on Jay Z's streaming site TIDAL in February (16) after the hip-hop star debuted his new material at his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show for Adidas at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Kanye's Billboard position won't be confirmed until later on Sunday (10Apr16), but he began the celebrations early as he took to Twitter on Saturday to thank fans for their support.
"Thank you to everybody who made The Life of Pablo the number 1 album in the world!!!," he tweeted. "I also wanted to point out that it's the first album to go number 1 off of streaming!!!"
He also revealed he would be heading out on tour to promote the project, adding, "I'm so happy that you guys like the music... I'm working on the tour designs now..."
Kanye has yet to detail his tour plans, but when he does hit the road, it will be his first full trek since 2013's Yeezus shows.
He will also perform at the Governors Ball Festival in New York in June (16) - his only U.S. festival date for 2016.
