Kanye West certainly has a method to his madness, but sometimes that simply means doing whatever he feels when the moment strikes. One of those moments happened in New York on Friday night, when he decided to preview new songs from the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album, Cruel Summer, at a club in Chelsea.
But then again, maybe this wasn't so impromptu, as Kanye apparently had his laptop with him. The New York Post reports that 'Ye was partying the night away at the Dream Downtown's PH-D Rooftop Lounge with the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and "The Hangover" director Todd Phillips, before deciding to make his way to the DJ booth. With laptop in hand, Kanye, sporting his black leather uniform, got hooked up to the speakers and treated stunned clubgoers to a few new tracks.
One guest told the Post that Kanye danced and rapped along to the songs he played, one of them tentatively titled "My Perfect Bitch."
On the track, the G.O.O.D. Music maestro is said to be spitting about his search for the perfect woman, which has finally come to an end. First guess is obviously that he's waxing poetic about his girlfriend Kim Kardashian, who he's been spotted with here, there and everywhere over the past few months.
Cruel Summer is due September 12, led by the singles "Mercy" and "New God Flow." Kanye revealed the album's artwork via Twitter last week, after premiering his short film of the same title at the Cannes Film Festival back in May.
