Kanye West is reportedly unlikely to be prosecuted following his spat with a photographer.
The hip-hop star got into an altercation with a paparazzo at LAX airport in Los Angeles last Friday. He is alleged to have punched the man after he bombarded the star with questions and also tried to remove his camera.
It was later claimed Kanye was being investigated for felony attempted robbery, but it's now thought that won't go ahead.
According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is looking into allegations by the paparazzo that Kanye tried to steal his equipment. However, it's thought there is no evidence to back up the claim meaning prosecution for a felony charge is highly unlikely.
While the rapper could technically still face misdemeanour criminal battery charges, it's not thought that will happen either.
"We're told Kanye is willing to ante up some cash to make the case go away, and it's perfectly legal. It's called a civil compromise and it's done every day," the site explains.
Kanye has a troubled relationship with photographers and has been open about his desire for privacy. Earlier this month he verbally lashed out at a paparazzo as he walked along a street.
"I appreciate it, but don't talk. Don't talk to me," he said. "I don't want to hear paparazzi talk to me or anyone I know. And tell everybody never talk, to anyone, that anyone knows - don't talk to themselves. Don't talk ever again."
The star and his reality TV star girlfriend Kim Kardashian recently became parents for the first time. In an interview before the birth of their daughter, Kanye admitted he would do anything to protect his family and hoped people would understand North isn't "America's baby" and should be allowed to grow up in peace.
