Kate Hudson and rocker fiance announce son is called `Bing`

The actress gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday night – just hours earlier than Posh Spice had her baby daughter.

But no name for Kate and Matt’s tot had emerged until now and his full name is Bingham “Bing” Hawn Bellamy.

Matt, from the band Muse, took to Twitter to announce the name and also to reveal that Kate, already a mother to seven-year-old Ryder, “pushed like a warrior” during the labour.

Matt Tweeted: “So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham 'Bing' Hawn Bellamy. Born 7lb 12oz, on 9th July.”

And if any followers were thinking the name is a bit odd, Matt cleared things up by explaining: “For those wondering, Bingham is my mum's maiden name and Bing Russell was Kurt's dad. Family connections all round!”

He Tweeted earlier: “Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!”

Kate’s first son Ryder Russell Robinson, whose father is her ex-husband Chris Robinson, also has a name that pays homage to Kurt Russell, who has been with Kate’s mum Goldie since 1983.
