Actress Kate Hudson impressed onlookers by miming along to Adele's hit single Hello during a TV appearance.
The 36-year-old screen star is a huge fan of the British singer, and while being interviewed by US talk show host Jimmy Fallon for the Tonight Show, she had fun singing along to her record-breaking hit. Jimmy challenged Kate to play Dubsmash, an app which allows you to choose your favourite audio clip and records the participant as they lip sync along.
Kate put a lot of emotion into her muted rendition of Hello, pouting and moodily staring away from the camera as she recorded a short video.
Last October (15), Kate made no secret of her admiration for Adele when she posted a photograph of her crying on Instagram, along with the caption "When @adele puts out a new single... She's done it again!#Hello #25#SheHadMeAtHello".
Jimmy kicked off the Dubsmash competition by morphing into TV icon Oprah Winfrey, mouthing her famous line: "You get a car, you get a car, everyone will get a car". Kate dissolved into giggles when he played the clip back to the audience, before Jimmy jokingly warned fans of the show that such an extravagant gesture will "never happen" during his series.
In the next round, Jimmy impersonated cartoon character Woody Woodpecker, and Kate insisted she knew exactly who he was pretending to be even before the talk show host replayed his clip with audio.
"I don't even understand why it's fun to do this, but it is so fun," Jimmy laughed, with Kate enthusiastically agreeing.
Kate – who looked stunning in a form fitting black dress with mesh detail - followed Jimmy by lip-syncing along to the advert for herb cough drops Ricola. However, she was less than impressed with her performance, insisting her timing was off and admitting she was a "perfectionist".
In the final round, Kate and Jimmy joined forces and generated a huge laugh from the audience with their efforts. They chose the Baha Men's classic 2000 track Who Let The Dogs Out?, with Jimmy taking lead vocals and Kate enthusiastically barking in the background.
"I love that one! My kids will love watching this one," the actress said after they had watched their performance back.
During her appearance, Kate also spoke about her involvement in Kung Fu Panda 3, and revealed she loved working on the animation with Jack Black. The blonde star had the opportunity to travel to China and visit pandas, which was a big perk for her too.
"'We went to Shanghai and then a place called Chengdu which is literally in the middle of China," she recalled. "It's huge and they say it's a really small place, and you're like, 'How many people?' And they say, '12 million.'
"It was actually really cool and then I got to see pandas. Chengdu is the home of the pandas. So I got to go and I got to hold a little baby panda, it was so insanely cute."
