The American actress and the British rocker have been dating for around six months, and have grown close very quickly. They are rarely seen without each other, and have been spotted on romantic dates in France, England and the US. There are even rumours Matt is planning to pop the question, after he was spotted perusing rings at an upmarket jewellery shop.
The couple have now decided they want to spend the festive season together, so Matt plans to take his parents Marilyn and George to America in December. They will join Kate’s mother Goldie Hawn and step-father Kurt Russell, and are thought to be excited by the plan
“It will be the first meeting of both sets of parents. Things are getting serious between Kate and Matt and it's the obvious next step,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. “Christmas is the only time they can get everyone together and the festive season is also the best time to do it.
"Matt's parents divorced when he was a teenager but they maintained a relationship. There's talk they could split the US trip between them.”
The two groups will stay near the beach in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and will spend time walking and going out for dinner.
Matt plays guitar and sings in band Muse, and has been teaching Kurt to play the instrument over recent months. George is also a keen guitarist, so it is thought the three men will bond over music during the trip.
