Within one year after her debut 'Made of Bricks' (2007), Kate Nash (1987) has grown out into one of the UK's biggest stars. In 2008 she won a BRIT as well as a NME Award for 'Best Solo Artist'. Her first love was acting, but shortly after she had heard that she didn't get into the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, she fell and broke her foot. While recovering she picked up song-writing. Kate uploaded some songs to her Myspace profile and the rest is history. Kate Nash sounds like a combination of Johnny Rotten, Joni Mitchell en Lilly Allen. She writes genial, crazy songs with simple electronic beats, keyboards, guitars and lyrics about wrong boyfriends and mean girlfriends.
Fabchannel weekly broadcasts concerts at Paradiso and Melkweg on the internet. Besides live webcasts Fabchannel.com offers an extensive online video archive including over 850 concerts of artists like Amy Macdonald, The View, Los Campesinos, Bloc Party and Kula Shaker.
