Kate Nash and The Cribs are the latest hot new acts to be announced to perform at this year's Shockwaves NME Awards 2008. Both acts will team up with legendary artists to wow the crowds at the star studded rock n' roll event taking place at IndigO2 on Thursday 28th February.
Following a phenomenal year as the hottest newcomers on the scene, Kate and the Jarman brothers will be joined by renowned artists whose careers span decades - Billy Bragg will join Kate Nash on stage and The Cribs will be teaming up with the legendary Johnny Marr.
The ceremony will kick off with the Mercury Prize winning threesome, Klaxons, who are up for an astounding four Shockwaves NME awards. With a reputation for being some of the biggest party animals in music, this band are sure to get the awards started in true rock 'n roll style.
Taking centre stage will be Gallows & Lethal Bizzle. The Hertfordshire quintet and London based rapper Lethal Bizzle will be performing their unconventional collaboration 'Staring at the rude bois', which has proved to be one of the biggest success stories of 2007.
Light Speed Champion will be bringing his eclectic musical style to the stage, along with a string quartet to perform an acoustic version of 'Galaxy of the lost' from his debut album 'Falling of Lavender Bridge'.
The final act of the night will be this year's Godlike Genius winners Manic Street Preaches. A special unannounced collaboration is sure to make this one of the nights highlights.
Music fans can watch all the action as it unfolds as live on E4 on the 28th February at 11.00pm as the finest music talent will be welcomed to the stage by the best new talent in comedy, hosts Mathew Horne and James Corden. The awards' highlights will then be shown the next day on Channel 4 at 11.50pm. And as if that isn't enough, T4 will bring viewers further backstage coverage on Saturday 1st March.
