Platinum-selling singer Kate Nash will star alongside Sheridan Smith, Jamie Winstone and Oona Chaplin in the upcoming U.K. film, Powder Room. The film will mark Nash's third feature.
Nash appeared in the 2012 film Greetings from Tim Buckley, and 2013 film Syrup. She has a firm presence in the music and fashion world as a style icon, shameless feminist and songwriter.
The film follows a group of former college girlfriends on a night out. Writer Rachel Hiron's 2009 Edinburgh stage comedy, When Women Wee, preceded the film. The play inspired the film to follow the unedited and truthful world of women. It served as the writers sketch for Powder Room's script.
Producer Damian Jones invested in the production, whilst MJ Delany, famous for her YouTube spoof A Newport State of Mind, makes her directorial debut.
The film's release date is the 29th of November.
Nash's feature in Powder Room accompanies an exciting year for the performer. Her anticipated third album, Girl Talk, released earlier this year and she is currently on a global tour.
A platinum-selling artist and a front row regular at New York and London Fashion Weeks, Nash is recurring face in glossy magazines and a model for clothing companies on both sides of the Atlantic. She released her first single in 2007 and was crowned 'Best Female Artist' at the 2008 BRIT Awards. Now touring her third album, Kate continues to layer her profile with fashion, acting and writing.
